We are inviting you and/or your colleagues from the municipalities to participate in our training on “result-based monitoring”.
 
Result-based monitoring is a key element for all types of EU funded or co-funded projects.
 
We prepared this training as a 2-day in-person seminar, in-person only – though we use Zoom for facilitating the pre-registration.
 
You can participate either in the Western or in the Eastern location, the content is the same. Costs of accomodation are on us, no fees to be paid.
 
You will receive a certificate at the end of the training, either as basic certificate or as qualified certificate when passed a small test.

Pre-registration is obligatory. For both seminars the registration should be completed until Monday 8th May 12:00.

Please register in advance for this event as we have some security restrictions for access to the building:
After registered, you will receive a confirmation email containing further information.
We have only 30 seats in the training centre of the Secretariat for European Affairs.
During the online registration you can opt for in-person participation. The 30 participants accepted will receive an individual email with entrance information.
All registered participants will automatically receive a Zoom link, which you can use in case that you were not among the first 30 registrants, or if you later have to cancel but do not want to miss the presentations.

The Intereg IPA ADRION Programme has announced its first call for project funding

“Velo Strumica” Project presented in the frames of the Diplomatic Economic Caravan Visit

The project Velo Strumica was presented by the mayor Kosta Kostadinov and the head of unit Gjoko Ristovski within the “Diplomatic Economic Caravan Visit to the Southeast Planning Region”.

This Project is cofounded by the European Union within the #EU4M Programme and implemented by the Municipality of Strumica. Overall objective is to contribute in better quality of life of citizens as well as cleaner and healthier environment by increasing capacities of the Municipality and introducing innovative solution for urban mobility.

The Diplomatic Economic Caravan Visit is joint activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Bureau for regional development. The main aim of the Visit is presentation and promotion of economic potentials of municipalities, domestic companies and investment opportunities of planning regions in front of the diplomatic staff at resident and non-resident Embassies in the Republic of North Macedonia.

Municipality of Radovish presented their EU4M Project within the Diplomatic Economic Caravan Visit

The project “Green Heat-introduction of efficient customer-oriented small-grid district heating service based on renewable energy sources” was presented by the mayor Aco Ristov within the “Diplomatic Economic Caravan Visit to the Southeast Planning Region”.

This Project is cofounded by the European Union within the #EU4M Programme and implemented by the Municipality of Radovish. Overall objective is to enable forward-looking, environment-friendly municipal heating services that contribute to improved living conditions for the local population through a pilot-unit in the Municipality.

The Diplomatic Economic Caravan Visit is joint activity of the Ministry of foreign affairs and the Bureau for regional development. The main aim of the Visit is presentation and promotion of economic potentials of municipalities, domestic companies and investment opportunities of planning regions before diplomatic staff at resident and non-resident Embassies in the Republic of North Macedonia.

“EU for Municipalities” meets for Steering Committee

On 16/3/2023 the joint Steering Committee of the Programme “EU for Municipalities” came together in Skopje to review and discuss the progress made by eight grant projects awarded to municipalities in North Macedonia for the improvement in delivery of local government services through innovative concepts. The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Local Self-Government, Risto Penov, and co-chaired by the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia.

As lead partner of the Technical Assistance to the “EU for Municipalities” Programme, B&S Europe prepared the Steering Committee and presented the status of implementation of all projects based on the permanent monitoring that the TA performs for the EU Delegation. The monitoring revealed showed different stages of implementation, with some projects very advanced, already planning the next phase of the project, while other are yet to fully start with the core work packages.

The Committee looked at the challenges and the ways to support all projects in advancing towards and achieving the expected results. The Ministry and EU Delegation stressed the importance of the projects, as well as their support and encouragements towards the work done so far and that coming up in the next period. The Programme counts on the crucial assistance of a helpdesk provided by the TA for all grantees, attending questions and aiming at building the capacity needed for municipalities to face challenges.

The participants also discussed about synergy with other donor-funded projects, cooperation proposals, offering guidance based on previous project results.

The EU-funded Technical Assistance to the “EU for Municipalities” is implemented by B&S Europe with Consortium partners Evoluxer, ALDA, and the municipalities of Silla and Quart de Poblet, for a period of 36 months. The overall objective is to contribute to local economic and social development of municipalities of the Republic of North Macedonia, by introducing innovation in their policy development, planning, governance and service delivery capacity.

Result oriented monitoring expert(s)

Assignment duration:

March 2023 – December 2023 (up to in total 25 working days to be split among one or more experts)

Responsibilities: 

– To assist municipalities to establish result-based monitoring and information systems and a flexible and effective mechanism to monitor implementation of projects.

– Capacity building services on project design and project management.
